Is Gum Disease linked to Pancreatic Cancer?

Evidence is starting to appear in the scientific press linking gum disease to pancreatic cancer. The journal ‘Gut’ has the latest research from Brown University and Harvard University in the US which showed that people found to have one of the bacteria known to cause gum disease in their mouths were also at twice the risk of developing pancreatic cancer, whereas individuals who only had non-harmful bacteria in their mouths had a 45% lower risk of pancreatic cancer.
