Can Braces Reduce Bullying?
A new website has been launched by a group of hospital orthodontists to investigate the link between dental malocclusion and bullying. Malocclusion often causes crooked or sticking out teeth and so far the study has found that 13% of 10-14 year olds examined for orthodontic treatment had been bullied, so this could be a hugely influential study when complete.
Have you or your child experienced bullying related to your teeth? You can help the researchers by going to https://sites.google.com/site/bullyingandorthodontics/ and completing their questionnaire.
At Ock Street Clinic we can offer the best in orthodontic treatment to solve malocclusion and there are a range of alternatives to reduce the aesthetic impact during treatment: Invisalign invisible braces and invisalign teen are both available in Abingdon, Oxford as well as tooth coloured ceramic braces.
